Go to Training → Classes → New Class. Admins and staff can create classes; instructors cannot.
Before your first class, make sure you have at least one course and, ideally, a location and your timezone set. Opening the form from a client page pre-selects that client and ticks Private; opening it from a training request also fills in the course and capacity, and saving marks the request Won.
The form
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Course | Required. Choose from your active courses. Selecting a course fills in Price with the course price if Price is still blank. |
| Location | Optional. Pick a location or leave "No location". The location name and address appear on the portal, in emails, receipts, sign-in sheets and calendar events. Picking a virtual location reveals a Meeting link for this class field: leave it blank to use the location's default link, or enter a per-class one. See Virtual and blended classes. |
| Session Days | At least one day. Each day has a Date, Start time and End time. Use Add Another Day for multi-day classes and Remove to drop a day. Dates must be distinct and the end time must be after the start time on each day. |
| Capacity | Maximum number of students. Leave blank for unlimited. Minimum 1. |
| Price | Optional. Leave blank to always use the course price (if you later change the course price, the class follows). Enter a value to override it for this class. 0 makes the class free. |
| Instructors | Tick each instructor who will teach. Only team members flagged as instructors are listed. If the list is empty, add instructors under Staff & Instructors. |
| Description | Optional, up to 5000 characters. Overrides the course description on the class page. |
| Published | Off by default (Draft). Turn on to make the class visible and bookable on your portal and embeds. |
| Corporate Client | Turn on to make this a private class for one client. Choose the client. Private classes never appear on the public schedule; the client's admins can register employees through the client portal, you can add employees from the roster, or you can share the class's private registration link so employees register themselves. |
| Repeat this class | Turn on to generate a series. See Recurring classes. |
There is no separate title field. The class is shown under its course name. Registration deadlines are set globally under Student Portal settings, not per class.
Click Save. You return to the list with "Class created."
Times and timezones
Enter times in your company timezone (Settings → General). Single-day classes are stored in UTC and converted back for display. Multi-day classes store each day's times exactly as you typed them.
Warning
If you change your company timezone later, single-day classes will shift on screen but multi-day classes will not. Set the timezone before scheduling. See Timezones.
What happens after saving
- Instructors are not emailed. The class appears on their Instructor Portal, and if they have connected Google or Outlook under Calendar sync an event is created for them.
- Nothing is sent to students yet. Students find published classes on your portal, through links or QR codes you share, or through your website embed.
- A draft class can be filled from the roster by staff before it is published.
Creating a class for a corporate client
From a client's page (Manage → Clients → client → Classes tab → Create Class for Client) the form opens with Corporate Client already on and the client selected. The note reads "This class will only be visible to the selected client in their portal. It will not appear on your public registration page."
Checklist before publishing
- Course, date and times are right.
- Capacity reflects the room and equipment.
- Price is correct, or blank to inherit the course price.
- Instructors are assigned so they see it on their schedule.
- Add-ons, questions and agreements are attached to the course (not the class). See Add-ons, Registration questions and Agreements.
- Turn on Published.
