The short answer
Choose Hovn if issuing AHA eCards and Red Cross certificates from the roster is your priority, you want corporate orders billed with one Stripe invoice, and you’re comfortable with class pages on hovn.app and a price that rises with the registrations that reach certification.
Choose JoinCPR if you want $59 a month at any volume, class pages on your own domain with a widget for your website, text reminders included, emails you can reword, and a client portal where companies register their own employees.
Both take registrations and payments online, run private classes for companies and send certification renewal reminders.

Hovn counts a registration once the student completes the whole journey from booking to certification issued, and cancelled registrations never count. Staff are limited to 15, 75 or 150 by plan, with extra staff at $2 a month each on Pro and Business, and card banks, Hovn’s connections to the certifying bodies, are limited to 2, 5 or 10.
There’s no free trial; Hovn offers a free walkthrough instead. Payments run through a Stripe account connected to Hovn, and its help center says a new Stripe account is needed even if you already have one. Hovn publishes no percentage fee on payments, and its standard terms allow an administrative fee if your order form lists one. Its plans are month to month; the terms ask for written notice at least 30 days before your renewal date to cancel.

Each figure is the subscription plus any per-registration or percentage platform fee, on the cheapest published plan for that volume. Percentage fees assume a $75 average class price. At 100 registrations a month Hovn’s Pro plan is $160 and at 250 its Business plan is $380, against JoinCPR’s $59. Where Hovn costs less: at 34 or fewer registrations a month, Hovn Essentials costs less than JoinCPR, before its $50 setup fee.
Where your class pages live
Hovn’s help center says a provider’s booking pages use Hovn’s domain followed by the provider’s name, such as hovn.app/your-business. A JoinCPR booking site runs on a free joincpr.com address or on your own domain, such as classes.yourdomain.com.
Hovn’s site doesn’t mention connecting your own domain. Its help center says linking into Hovn gives your classes the benefit of Hovn’s domain authority, and that it connects to your website through direct links rather than embeds. Each provider’s pages sit on, and add to, hovn.app.
With a custom domain on JoinCPR, search engines are told your domain is the real address of every course and class page, and your sitemap, social previews and links all use it. The ranking your pages earn belongs to your business and stays with it. You can also embed your schedule, course list or a single class on your existing website. Where Hovn is stronger
Hovn’s clearest advantage is card issuing: its card banks connect to the AHA and the American Red Cross, so certifications are issued from the roster, with HSI in beta.
- eCards and certificates from the roster. You still buy AHA eCards through your training center or training site, and Hovn issues them through the AHA’s eCard connection; Red Cross certifications go through the Red Cross’s course record system. JoinCPR exports the roster and you issue cards in the certifying body’s system.
- Corporate billing. A client’s registrations and materials roll up into one order you can bill with a Stripe invoice. JoinCPR doesn’t create invoices.
- Pricing tied to certifications. You pay for registrations that reach certification, and cancellations never count. At 34 or fewer a month, Essentials costs less than JoinCPR, before its setup fee.
- Migration help. Hovn says its team imports student records, certification history and rosters, and lists migrations from Enrollware, Acuity, CPR Enroll, MyTASystem and spreadsheets.
- Visibility on hovn.app. Hovn says providers on it have reached page one of Google without spending on ads.
Where JoinCPR is stronger
JoinCPR’s advantages are its flat price, a booking site on your own domain, and more control over how you work with students and companies.

- Emails you can reword. All 21 of JoinCPR’s automatic emails are editable templates. Hovn’s help center says its student emails use fixed templates you can’t change.

They take different routes. Hovn puts every provider’s pages on hovn.app and says linking into Hovn gives your classes the benefit of its domain authority. JoinCPR puts your course and class pages on your own domain, if you connect one, so the ranking they earn belongs to your business and stays with it; a newer domain can take longer to build that ranking. Both publish course and class pages with structured data for search engines.
Can I move from Hovn to JoinCPR?
Yes. Import students, past training records and certifications, with provider card numbers, from a CSV spreadsheet of up to 1,000 rows at a time. We can also help you import your data.
