Students pay by card straight into your own Stripe or Square account, and JoinCPR takes no cut. Refunds, receipts, front-desk payments and group payments are all handled from the class roster.

Money goes straight to your Stripe or Square account
JoinCPR never holds your money. You connect your own Stripe or Square account once, and every payment is made directly on it and paid out on your normal schedule.
Stripe or Square charge their standard processing fees, and JoinCPR adds no platform fee and takes no percentage. Payouts, disputes and tax reporting stay in your Stripe or Square dashboard, where you already manage them.
Connecting takes a few minutes: from Settings, sign in to Stripe or Square, approve JoinCPR, and you’re connected. Payment details are entered in Stripe’s or Square’s own card form, so card data is handled by them, not stored by JoinCPR. More on how JoinCPR protects your data.

Card payments at checkout
Students pay by card in the last step of checkout, and a free class, or a promo code that covers the price, skips payment altogether.
Apple Pay and Google Pay appear through Stripe when you’ve turned them on in your Stripe account. Every payment is checked on the server before it’s recorded: the right amount, for the right class, used once. If the last seat goes while a student is paying, their payment is refunded automatically.

Take payments at the front desk
Register walk-ins and phone bookings from the roster and take payment on the spot: charge a card, or record cash or a check.
Add Student lets you charge a card through your connected Stripe or Square account, mark the seat as paid in cash or by check, or waive the fee for a comped seat. Either way the student gets their confirmation, with a receipt when they paid.
A registration booked to pay later can be marked paid when the student pays you, which issues a receipt and emails it automatically.
Refunds in two clicks
Issue a full or partial refund from the roster, and the money goes back through Stripe or Square with an email to the student and an updated receipt.
Add a note for the student and an internal reason for your records. A full refund cancels the registration and frees the seat for the waitlist; a partial refund keeps the seat. For a group, refund one member’s share or the whole group at once. Cash refunds can be recorded too.
Refunds you make in your Stripe or Square dashboard sync back automatically, so the roster and receipt always match what actually happened. Refunds are never automatic: cancelling a registration or a class doesn’t move money until you decide to.
A branded receipt for every payment
Every payment gets a numbered receipt with your logo, attached as a PDF to the student’s confirmation email.
Receipts list the class with its date and location, each add-on, any promo code discount and the total paid, with the card brand and last four digits or the payment method. Group payments get one receipt, itemized by attendee. After a refund, the receipt shows the refunded amount and the net.
Staff can view, print or resend any receipt from the roster, and students with an account find theirs in My Account.
Pay-later and corporate bookings
Not every seat is paid by card at checkout, and JoinCPR keeps track of the ones that aren’t.
Without a payment processor connected, checkout offers Register (Pay Later): the seat is held, the confirmation says payment is due, and you mark it paid when the student pays you.
Corporate bookings made through a client’s portal are saved as confirmed and unpaid, so you can bill the company your usual way and mark each seat paid. Employees who register through a private class link pay by card like anyone else. JoinCPR doesn’t create invoices; see corporate and group training for how company bookings work.
Test everything before you go live
Every account starts in test mode, so you can run a full checkout with Stripe’s test card or Square’s sandbox before any real money moves.
While you test, students see a clear banner saying no real charges will occur. When you’re ready, connect your live Stripe or Square account and switch to Live Mode; JoinCPR won’t switch until the live connection is in place.
A good last check: make one small real registration, refund it from the roster, and see both in your Stripe or Square dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Does JoinCPR take a percentage of my payments?
No. Students pay straight into your own Stripe or Square account, and JoinCPR takes no cut. Stripe or Square charge their standard card processing fees.
Which payment processors can I use?
Stripe or Square. You connect your own account, and one of them takes payments at a time. Apple Pay and Google Pay are available through Stripe when you turn them on in your Stripe account. Other processors, such as Authorize.net or PayPal, aren’t supported.
Can I give a partial refund?
Yes. Choose Partial refund on the roster and enter the amount. The student keeps their seat, gets a Refund Processed email with your note, and their receipt shows the refund and the new net amount.
Do you support deposits or payment plans?
Not today. A registration is paid in full at checkout, booked as pay later, or marked paid by you. There is no deposit, balance or payment-plan option yet.
Can I add sales tax or pass card fees on to students?
Not today. Checkout charges the class price plus any add-ons, with no separate sales tax or processing-fee line. Stripe or Square take their standard fees from your payouts as usual.
What if I don’t have Stripe or Square yet?
You can start without one. Students register with Register (Pay Later) and you mark them paid when they pay you. When you’re ready, create a Stripe or Square account and connect it from Settings in a few minutes.
