How keycode banks work
A keycode bank is a list of one-time codes for a course, such as HeartCode or eBook access codes, together with the link where students redeem them.
Create a bank, choose its course, add a short description and the access link, then paste your codes one per line. Duplicates are skipped automatically. Several banks can feed the same course, so a new batch of codes can go in a new bank.
JoinCPR doesn’t sell or supply codes: you add the codes you’ve bought, and JoinCPR hands them out.
Automatic assignment at checkout
When a student registers for the course on your booking site, JoinCPR assigns the next available code and emails it to them straight away.
The email has the code, the bank’s description and an Access Your Keycode button. In a group registration, every attendee gets a code of their own. Students with an account also find their codes, with the access link, under My Keycodes.
Pair a bank with a blended course and students get both the prework instructions and their online course key when they register; see virtual and blended classes.
Send codes by hand when you need to
Registrations that don’t come through checkout, such as walk-ins added from the roster, imports and client portal bookings, don’t get a code automatically and wait in a Pending Assignments list.
Click Assign to send the next code, or send one from the bank’s history. If a bank runs out, new registrations still go through and join the pending list until you add more codes.
Track stock and who got which code
The Keycode Banks page shows each bank’s total, available and assigned codes, with an empty bank marked in red.
Each bank’s history lists every code and the student who received it, masked until you choose to show it, and lets you resend or copy a code. The keycodes report summarizes codes by bank, with CSV and PDF exports.
There’s no automatic low-stock email, so check the count before a busy run of classes.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when a bank runs out of codes?
Registrations still go through. Students who didn’t get a code wait under Pending Assignments, and when you add more codes JoinCPR tells you how many students are waiting so you can assign them.
Can I resend a code to a student?
Yes. Resend Keycode in the bank’s history sends the same code again, and staff can see and copy a student’s code from their registration details on the roster.
Are codes returned if a student cancels?
No. Once a code is assigned it counts as used, even if the registration is cancelled or refunded, because the student may already have redeemed it. A student who transfers to another class keeps their code.
Can I sell keycodes or products without a class registration?
Not today. Codes and add-ons are sold with a registration, so charge for them through the class price or an add-on. There’s no separate store for selling them on their own.
