Timezones and dates
How your company timezone in JoinCPR sets class times, reminders, reports and certificate dates, what still runs on UTC, and why to set it before you schedule.

Your business has one timezone, set under Settings → General → Timezone by an administrator. The default is America/New_York.
What the timezone controls
- Class times you enter on the Create, Edit and Reschedule forms are read in this zone and shown back in it everywhere: the app, the student portal, emails, receipts, sign-in sheets and calendar events.
- Certificate issue dates and expiry reminders use "today" in this zone.
- Reports interpret the date range as calendar days in this zone.
What uses UTC instead
- The dashboard's "this month" tiles and the Instructor Portal's "Classes This Month" count months in UTC, so something done late in the evening on the last day of a month may land in the next month.
- Scheduled jobs run on a UTC clock. Daily jobs therefore run in the early hours for US timezones.
Changing the timezone later
Warning
Single-day classes are stored as an exact moment and will shift on screen if you change the timezone (a 9:00 AM Eastern class becomes 8:00 AM Central). Multi-day classes store each day's times as typed and will not shift. Set the timezone once, before you schedule classes.
Daylight saving
Conversions follow the standard rules for your zone, so a class entered as 9:00 AM shows as 9:00 AM in both summer and winter. Reminder windows are relative to the class time and are unaffected by the change.
Promo code dates
Promo start and expiry dates switch over at the beginning of the chosen day. Set the expiry to the day after the last day you want the code to work. See Promo codes.
