What comes with you
Your students, their past training records and their certifications with the certifying body’s card numbers all come across in a CSV import, so student histories and renewal reminders are complete from your first day.

Nobody is emailed during an import, so students won’t get a confirmation for a class they took two years ago. Rows that fail, such as one with a bad email address, are listed in an error report you can download, fix and import again.

How to switch, step by step
Most of the switch is a spreadsheet and an afternoon of setup. These are the steps in the order that keeps registrations running the whole time.

Export from your old system
Download your students, their past classes and their certifications as a spreadsheet. If your system can’t export one, ask its support team for a copy of your data.

Import the CSV
Upload up to 1,000 rows per file under Students, and choose what happens to students who are already in JoinCPR.

Map your course names
Match each course name in the file to one of your JoinCPR courses, create it, or skip it. A preview shows every row before anything is saved.

Set up payments
Connect your own Stripe or Square account, including one you already use, and try checkout in test mode first.

Connect your domain
Point a subdomain such as classes.yourdomain.com to JoinCPR with one CNAME record, or use your free joincpr.com address.

Run both systems for a week or more
Put new classes on JoinCPR while classes already booked on the old system run their course.

Go live
Update the booking links on your website and profiles, import the last results from the old system, and close it down.

Keep your links working
If your booking pages already run on a subdomain of your own website, such as classes.yourdomain.com, point that same address to JoinCPR, and the link your students know keeps working.
Links to individual classes in your old system won’t match JoinCPR’s pages, so point your website’s buttons, your Google Business Profile and your social profiles at your schedule or course pages. Old pages on your previous provider’s own domain stay under their control, so replace those links with your JoinCPR address.
Once you’re on JoinCPR, your links stay put: each course has a permanent page, a class that has ended forwards to its course page, and renaming a course keeps its old address working. Your free joincpr.com address works from day one. Choose it before you share it: changing it later stops the old address working, with no redirect.
Run both systems during the switch
You don’t have to move everything in one night. Keep the classes already booked on your old system there, put every new class on JoinCPR, and switch your links over once the new schedule is live.
Students who registered on the old system keep their seats and their confirmations. When those classes have run, import their results so the certifications and renewal dates join the rest of your history in JoinCPR; the import’s duplicate handling keeps each student to one record.

Frequently asked questions
How long does switching take?
The import itself takes minutes per file, and setting up your courses, payments and booking site fits in an afternoon. Most of the calendar time is waiting for classes already booked in your old system to take place, while every new class goes on JoinCPR.
Will my students’ certification expiry dates carry over?
Yes, when each row has the class date and the course has its validity set. JoinCPR recreates each certification with the class date as the issue date and works out the expiry with the course’s rule, end of month or exact date, so it matches the certifying body’s card. Card numbers come across too, and imported certifications get renewal reminders.
