Classes overview and statuses

How classes relate to courses in JoinCPR, the Classes list and its filters, what each status badge means, the row actions and how class capacity is counted.

Updated · JoinCPR help center

A class is one scheduled, bookable session of a course: a date (or several days), a location, instructors, a capacity and a price. Students register for classes. Open Training → Classes to see them all.

The Classes list

Heading "Classes — Schedule and manage your training classes."

Header buttons (admins and staff):

  • Copy All Classes Link copies your public schedule address (your-portal/classes) so you can share it anywhere. If you have not set up a portal address yet the button reads Set up subdomain to share links and takes you to Domains.
  • QR Code shows a QR image of the same link with Copy, Download (a PNG) and Done.
  • New Class opens the create form.
  • List / Calendar toggle switches to the calendar view.

Filters (remembered in the page address):

  • Search box "Search classes..." matches the class title or course name.
  • Time: Upcoming (default), Past, All.
  • Visibility: All Classes, Public, Private.

Columns: Class, Location, Date & Time, Instructor(s), Capacity ("8 / 12", or "8 / ∞" for unlimited) and Status. Click Class, Date & Time or Status to sort. Fifteen classes per page.

Status badges

Badge Meaning
Published (green) Visible and bookable on your student portal and embeds
Draft (grey) Hidden from students. New classes start as drafts.
Cancelled (red) Cancelled by staff. Also unpublished. See Cancelling a class.
Private — {Client} (purple) A corporate client class. It never appears on the public schedule or embeds, but its registration link still works, and anyone who registers through it is attached to the client. See Corporate clients.
Recurring (blue) Part of a recurring series
Rescheduled (amber) The date was changed with the Reschedule tool
Full (red, calendar and class page) Capacity reached

"Past" is not a stored status; the Past filter simply shows classes whose start time has gone by.

Note

A class's displayed name is its title if one was set, otherwise the course name. Its price is the class price if one was set, otherwise the course price.

How capacity is counted

Every registration whose status is not Cancelled takes a seat: Pending (pay later), Confirmed, Completed and No show all count, and so does a seat held for an open waitlist offer. Only cancelling a registration (or a full refund, which cancels it) frees the seat. Leave capacity blank for unlimited.

Staff can always add students from the roster even when a class is full; you get a warning, not a block. Students on the portal see Full and cannot register, or Join Waitlist when the waitlist is on. The Classes list shows "N waiting" under the capacity of classes with a waitlist.

Row actions (the "…" menu)

Action What it does
View / Roster Opens the class page
Edit Opens the edit form
Reschedule Opens the class page with the Reschedule window already open
Duplicate Creates a Draft copy one week later with the same course, location, capacity, price, description, privacy and instructors. Registrations are not copied. Assigned instructors get a calendar event if they have connected a calendar.
Print Sign-In Sheet Opens the sign-in sheet in a new tab
Copy Registration Link / QR Code The direct link to this class on your portal (your-portal/classes/{id}). Shown only when a portal address exists. For a private class this is the link to give the client's employees.
Delete Soft-deletes the class. Refused while any Pending or Confirmed registration exists. See Deleting a class.

Instructors see only View, Roster, Print Sign-In Sheet, Copy Registration Link and QR Code.

There are no checkboxes or bulk actions on this list.

Registration cut-off

Registration on the portal closes at the class start time, or earlier if you set Registration cutoff (minutes before class) under Student Portal settings. The cut-off applies to every class; there is no per-class deadline. It never blocks staff from adding walk-ins.
