Text reminders students actually read

SMS reminders go out automatically before each class to students who ticked the box at checkout. They’re sent from a shared JoinCPR number and included at no extra cost.

Choose when they’re sent: 2, 4, 6, 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours before class. The text gives the course, day, time and place, and says “today” or “tomorrow” only when that’s literally true on your local calendar. Rescheduling a class resets the reminder, so students are texted again for the new date.

The opt-in box is unticked by default, with the disclosures US carriers require, and STOP, START and HELP replies are handled for you. Texts go to confirmed students who opted in. Besides the class reminder, the only text JoinCPR sends is a waitlist seat offer; confirmations and receipts go by email.

The confirmation carries the receipt PDF when the student paid, and online classes and blended courses add their meeting link and prework instructions automatically. The keycode email and password reset emails are sent too, with fixed wording.

Edit any email with merge tags

Every template can be reworded in a simple editor, with merge tags that fill in each student’s name, class date, location and more.

Type a tag such as {{student_first_name}} or {{class_date}} and JoinCPR fills it in for every student. The editor lists the tags each email can use. Preview your draft with sample data, send yourself a test, and reset to the original wording whenever you like.

Set the timing once

Choose when each automatic message goes out, and JoinCPR follows it for every class from then on.

The class reminder email goes to confirmed students and to pay-later students who still owe payment, once per class. Eight email types have on and off switches, so you can, for example, switch off the welcome email for new student accounts.

Renewal reminders link to your schedule filtered to the course, which is how certification tracking brings students back.

Messages go out under your name

Emails carry your logo and business name, and replies go straight to your inbox.

Emails are sent from JoinCPR’s sending address with your business name as the sender. Set a reply-to address once and every student reply reaches you. Receipts and certificates use your brand colour, and every email and text is logged, so when a student says they never got something you can resend the confirmation or receipt from the roster.

When a full class frees a seat, the automatic waitlist emails and texts the next person in line too.

Frequently asked questions

Are SMS reminders included in the price?

Yes, at no extra cost. Text reminders are part of the $59 plan and go out from a shared JoinCPR number, so there is no texting account to set up. Only students who opt in receive them.

Do students have to opt in to texts?

Yes. US carriers require it, so the text reminder box at checkout starts unticked and only students who tick it are texted. Anyone can reply STOP to opt out or START to opt back in, and students with an account can change it in My Account.

Can I turn off an email I don’t want?

Yes. Eight email types, including the class reminder, class completed and payment receipt emails, have on and off switches in Settings. Service notices such as reschedule, transfer and refund emails always go out, so students are never left uninformed.

Can I send a follow-up after class?

Yes. Turn on the post-class follow-up to send it automatically between 1 hour and 7 days after a class ends, or click Send Follow Up on the class page. It goes to confirmed and completed students, in your wording.

Can I send newsletters or marketing emails from JoinCPR?

Not today. JoinCPR sends automatic class emails only. For newsletters and campaigns, connect Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or GoHighLevel, and JoinCPR keeps your students and their tags in sync there.
