Courses
Create courses from the JoinCPR course library or from scratch, set the price, validity and expiry rule to match the certifying body, and share course pages.

A course is what you teach: "BLS Provider", "Heartsaver First Aid", and so on. Courses hold the price, description, duration, certification validity and image, and are the thing you attach add-ons, questions and agreements to. Classes are scheduled from courses. Admins and staff manage them under Training → Courses.
Creating a course
Click New Course. Two starting points:
- Choose from course library: a catalogue of standard courses maintained by JoinCPR, grouped by category (AHA, ARC, NSC, HSI, ECSI, General). Search or filter, then Select to copy the name, description, duration, certification validity, expiry rule and image into your form. The course becomes yours to edit; later library changes do not affect it.
- Create from scratch: an empty form.
Important
The library does not set a price. After selecting a library course, enter your Price before saving or the course will be $0.00.
Fields

JoinCPR keeps a record for expiry tracking and renewal reminders, lets you note the provider's card number, and does not print a certificate, show its own number to students, or offer a verification page. Editing
Edit (and View, which opens the same page) shows the form plus read-only summaries of the course's Add-Ons, Registration Questions and Agreements, each with a Manage link. Those are assigned from their own pages: Add-ons, Registration questions, Agreements.
Remove under the course image deletes it immediately, without saving.
Note
Renaming a course changes its web address, but every address the course has had keeps working and forwards to the current one, so shared links, printed QR codes and Google results carry over. Class links are unaffected. The new address is the one to share from then on.
Active and inactive
Click the status badge in the list to toggle, or use Deactivate / Activate in the menu. Inactive courses:
- cannot be chosen when creating a class
- disappear from the portal course list and course pages, embeds, and the keycode bank and manual certification course pickers
- keep their existing classes, which continue to sell normally
Deactivating is the safe way to retire a course.
Deleting
Delete course in the edit page's danger zone is refused while any class of the course is upcoming or has registrations of any status: "Cancel or delete those classes first, or deactivate the course instead." Otherwise the course is soft-deleted. Certificates already issued keep the course name.
Sharing a course
The list menu offers Copy Course Link and QR Code (with Download) for the course page on your portal, when you have a portal address. The course page is the course's landing page: description, duration, certification validity, starting price, every upcoming date with its own Register button, and links to your other courses. When nothing is scheduled it shows "No upcoming dates" with your company phone and email.
How students see courses
Your portal's Courses page and the website embed list every active course, including those with no upcoming dates, so each course page stays reachable (and findable on Google) between class runs. Deactivate a course to take it off the portal. See Student portal overview, Getting found on Google and Embedding.
Matching the certifying body
Most businesses submit the roster to the American Heart Association, the Red Cross or another provider, who issues the actual card. JoinCPR keeps its own record of each certification so you can run expiry reports and send renewal reminders. Set the validity and expiry rule on the course to match the provider so those dates agree with the card:

Courses added from the course library come with the right rule already set. For courses you create from scratch, pick it yourself. The certification date is always the class date (the last day for multi-day classes), not the day you mark the roster complete.
