Welcome to JoinCPR
Start here: what JoinCPR does for a CPR training business, how the dashboard, your student booking site and the client portal fit together, and your first week.
Updated · JoinCPR help center
JoinCPR runs the day-to-day of a CPR and safety training business: scheduling classes, taking registrations and payments online, keeping student records, issuing certifications, and reminding everyone at the right time. This guide explains the pieces so the rest of the documentation makes sense.
The three portals
| Portal | Address | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| App portal (the dashboard) | app.joincpr.com |
Your team: administrators, staff and instructors |
| Student portal | your-business.joincpr.com or your own custom domain |
The public: students browsing classes, registering and paying; students with accounts viewing certificates and receipts |
| Client portal | your-business.joincpr.com/client |
Corporate clients you invite, so they can register their employees into private classes and track compliance |
Everything you configure in the app portal shows up on the other two. Branding, class listings, checkout rules and emails are all controlled from here.
Note
Your student portal address is created automatically from your company name when you sign up (for example acme-cpr.joincpr.com). You can change the subdomain or connect your own domain under Settings → Domains. See Domains.
How the pieces connect
- Courses are what you teach (for example "BLS Provider"). A course carries the price, description, certification validity and the add-ons, questions and agreements that apply at checkout. See Courses.
- Classes are scheduled sessions of a course on a date, at a location, with instructors. Students register for classes. See Classes overview.
- Registrations link a student to a class and carry the payment, status (pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled, no show), add-ons and answers. You manage them from the class roster.
- Students are created automatically the first time someone registers, or when you add them from a roster or import.
- Certifications are issued when you mark a registration complete. They carry a certificate number, expiry date, a printable certificate and a public verification page. See Certifications.
- Corporate clients group employees under a company and get their own portal. See Corporate clients.
- Emails and SMS go out automatically at each step and can be customised. See Automatic emails.
Your first week
- Work through the setup checklist: confirm your subdomain, connect Stripe or Square, add a location, create a course, schedule a class.
- Set your timezone under Settings → General before you schedule anything. See Timezones for why this matters.
- Upload your logo and colours under Branding.
- Review the Student Portal settings so checkout behaves the way you want (guest checkout or required accounts, the registration cut-off, spots remaining and the waitlist).
- Invite your team under Staff & Instructors.
- Share your class links or embed the schedule on your website.
Roles at a glance
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Admin | Everything, including billing, company settings and team management |
| Staff | Everything except company settings, export column mapping and team changes; can open the billing page |
| Instructor | See only their own classes and students, mark attendance, sync their calendar |
The full breakdown is in Roles and permissions.
Trial and billing
Every new account starts on a 15-day free trial with no card required. After that JoinCPR is $59 a month for one plan with every feature, billed monthly. The trial banner at the top of every page counts down the days. When you are ready, subscribe from Account → Billing. Once a trial or subscription lapses, the dashboard and your public registration pages close until you subscribe. See Billing and your subscription.
Getting help
Use the search box on any help page. Every article is indexed, including headings and tables, so searching for a word you see on screen (a button label, a status badge, an error message) usually finds the right section. If you still need help, email JoinCPR support at info@joincpr.com or call (855) 223-3496; the same details are at the bottom of every article.
