Billing and your subscription

How JoinCPR billing works: the 15-day free trial, subscribing for $59 a month, updating your card, cancelling, failed payments and what closes if access lapses.

Updated · JoinCPR help center

JoinCPR has one plan with every feature, $59 a month, billed monthly. You manage it under Account → Billing (/billing). The page is available to admins and staff even when the rest of the account is locked, so a lapsed account can always get back in.

The free trial

  • Every new account starts on a 15-day free trial. No card is collected at sign-up.
  • The trial banner at the top of every page shows "Your free trial ends in N days." It turns red with a warning icon at three days or fewer. It cannot be dismissed.
  • Administrators receive two emails from JoinCPR: "Your free trial ends soon" when three days or fewer remain, and "Your free trial has ended" once it has passed.
  • While on trial, everything works: dashboard, classes, checkout, embeds, client portal.

Important

Subscribing during the trial ends the trial immediately and bills your card today. Unused trial days are not credited. If you want the whole trial, subscribe on the last day.

Subscribing

  1. Open Billing and click Subscribe Now — $59/month.
  2. On the Subscribe to JoinCPR page enter your card in the Payment Details box and click Subscribe — $59/month.
  3. If the card is accepted you return to the dashboard with "Subscription activated! Welcome aboard."
  4. If the bank requires extra verification (3-D Secure and similar) you see "Your card needs additional verification before the subscription is active. Please check your email from Stripe or try a different card." Your trial date is kept until the payment completes.

The subscription is billed to a Stripe customer created with your company name and the email of the first team member.

The Billing page

Current Plan card:

Row Meaning
Status Active, Cancelling (still active but set to end), Trialing, Past Due, Cancelled, Trial or Not subscribed
Payment Method Card brand and last four digits once a card is on file
Next Billing Date Or Access Until when the subscription is cancelling
Next Amount Shown only while active and not cancelling

Buttons, depending on state:

  • Subscribe Now — $59/month when you have never subscribed.
  • Update Payment Method when active or past due. An inline card form appears; Save Card makes the new card the default for future charges.
  • Cancel Subscription when active. You are asked "Are you sure you want to cancel? You'll retain access until the end of your billing period."
  • Resume Subscription when cancelling, any time before the period ends.

Payment History lists your last 12 invoices with Date, Description, Amount, Status (Paid, Open, Void, Uncollectible) and View Receipt, which opens Stripe's hosted invoice page in a new tab. That page is where you download PDF receipts for your accounting.

At the bottom are JoinCPR's support email and phone, and a note that the subscription is governed by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Cancelling

Cancelling sets the subscription to end at the close of the current billing period. Until then everything keeps working and the page shows "Subscription Ending — Your subscription is set to cancel on {date}. You can resume at any time before then." After that date the status becomes Cancelled and the account locks (see below). Subscribe again to reopen.

Payment failures and the grace period

  1. If a monthly charge fails, the status becomes Past Due and every administrator gets "Your subscription payment failed — JoinCPR".
  2. You have a 7-day grace period from the first failed attempt. During it the dashboard and your registration pages stay open. The Billing page shows "Payment Failed — Your last subscription payment could not be processed. Please update your payment method before {date}..."
  3. Stripe retries automatically. Updating the card usually resolves it on the next retry.
  4. After seven days without a successful payment the account locks until a payment succeeds.

Retries do not extend the grace period; it always runs from the first failure.

What locks when access lapses

Access lapses when the trial ends without a subscription, the grace period runs out, the subscription is cancelled and the period has ended, or a payment is left incomplete.

In the app portal, every working page is closed: Classes, Calendar, Students, Certifications, Courses, Locations, Instructors, Clients, Promo Codes, Add-Ons, Questions, Agreements, Keycode Banks, Reports, all Settings pages, receipts, sign-in sheets and the Instructor Portal.

  • Admins and staff are sent to Billing with a message such as "Your free trial has ended. Subscribe to continue using the platform."
  • Instructors are sent to a locked page that says "Please ask an administrator of {Company} to update the subscription."
  • Still available: the dashboard home page, Onboarding, Billing, your personal profile and security settings, Help & Docs, and log out.

On your student portal and website embeds, everything that sells a seat is closed: the class list, class pages, course pages, single and group checkout, all three embed widgets, and the client portal's "Register Employees" page. Visitors see a branded page: "Online registration is temporarily closed — {Company} is not taking online registrations right now. Please contact them at {your company email or phone} for class availability."

Still open for students and clients while you are locked: certificate verification, student login and password reset, the student "My Account" pages (certifications, history, keycodes, receipts), and the client portal apart from registering employees.

Tip

Fill in your company email or phone under Settings → General. When registration is closed, that is the contact shown to would-be students. Without it they only see "Please check back soon or contact them directly."

Notes

  • The price shown on the page is the standard monthly rate. Your invoices in Payment History are the source of truth for what was charged.
  • Nightly, JoinCPR re-checks every subscription with Stripe in case a notification was missed, so a status that looks stale will correct itself by the next morning.
