Domains: your subdomain and custom domain
Change your joincpr.com subdomain or connect your own domain with a CNAME record: verification, automatic SSL, status badges and what changes once it goes live.

Settings → Domains controls the address of your student portal (admins and staff).
Your subdomain
Your portal is https://{slug}.joincpr.com, where the slug was generated from your company name at sign-up. In the Subdomain card you can change it:
- Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only; it must start and end with a letter or number; up to 63 characters.
- Some words are reserved for JoinCPR's own use (for example app, www, admin and api), and every slug must be unique.
Warning
The change is immediate and the old address stops working straight away, with no redirect. Links in old emails, QR codes you have printed and embed code on your website all break. Change it before you start sharing links, or update everything afterwards.
The Registration URL card shows the subdomain address with a Copy button.
Connecting a custom domain
You can serve the portal from a subdomain of your own website, such as classes.yourdomain.com. A bare domain (yourdomain.com) cannot be used.

Decide the subdomain, for example
classes.yourdomain.com. -
At your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, Squarespace…) add this record:

Wait for the record to take effect (minutes, up to an hour).

Enter the domain in Custom domain and click Verify & Connect.
JoinCPR looks up the CNAME live. If it is not found you see "We could not find a CNAME record for {domain} pointing to app.joincpr.com…" and nothing is saved. Once found, the domain is saved and an SSL certificate is requested automatically.
Status

An A record, an ALIAS/ANAME record or a proxied Cloudflare record will not pass the CNAME check.
What changes when the custom domain is active
- The student portal, client portal, embeds, receipt links, renewal links in emails and client invitations all use your custom domain.
- Your
.joincpr.comsubdomain keeps working alongside it, but search engines are told that the custom domain is the real address of every page (the sitemap and each page's canonical link use it), so your Google ranking builds on your own domain. See Getting found on Google. - The staff app stays at
app.joincpr.com. - The embed snippets on the Embed page switch to the custom domain automatically; re-copy them onto your website.
Removing a custom domain
Remove disconnects it. The portal is reachable at the subdomain again, and any embed code or links using the custom domain stop working until you update them.
