Group registrations
How one person registers and pays for 2 to 50 students in a single JoinCPR checkout, the group receipt and emails each attendee gets, and how to refund a group.
Updated · JoinCPR help center
Group checkout lets one person (the lead registrant) register two or more students in a single payment. Students reach it from Register a Group on a class page, which appears whenever more than one seat is left.
Group registrations are made by the public. They are different from corporate client bookings, which are created by you or your client's admins without payment.
What the lead goes through
- Group Size: 2 up to the remaining seats (or 50 for unlimited classes).
- Your Info: the lead's details, I am also one of the students attending this class (ticked by default), and optionally Create an account.
- Students: first name, last name and email for each additional student. Every attendee needs a unique email.
- Questions, Add-Ons and Agreements as configured on the course. Answers apply to the whole group; add-ons can be chosen per student or Add for all students; I Agree for Group records acceptance on every attendee.
- Summary: an itemised list per attendee, the promo code box and the total. A promo code discounts the class price only and counts as one use.
- Payment: card via Stripe or Square, or Register Group (Pay Later) when no processor is connected.
What is created
- One group record with the lead, class, size, totals and payment.
- One registration per attendee, each with an even share of any discount. Rosters show a purple Group badge, or Group Lead on the payer's own seat.
- One receipt for the whole group, itemised by attendee, belonging to the payer.
- A keycode for each attendee if the course has a bank with stock.
- For a private corporate class, every attendee is attached to the client and matched to or added to its employee list. See Private registration links.
Emails
- Every attendee receives a Registration Confirmation for their own seat.
- Only the payer's copy has the receipt PDF attached.
Important
If the lead is not attending, they have no registration and receive no email at all. The receipt is only visible under their My Account → Receipts, which requires student login to be enabled and an account. Consider resending the receipt from the roster (any group member's row offers Resend Receipt) to the payer's address.
Refunding a group
From the class roster:
- Refund This Student refunds that member's equal share and cancels only them.
- Refund Entire Group refunds the amount you choose against the group payment, splits it evenly and cancels everyone on a full refund.
- Mark as Refunded appears for groups that paid offline.
Refund groups from the class roster rather than the student profile; the roster knows about the group payment. See Refunds.
Transfers
Transferring a group member moves only that person. The group record and receipt stay with the original class.
