Managing students

The JoinCPR Students list: how student records are created, searching and sorting, what instructors can see, deactivating a record and exporting student data.

Updated · JoinCPR help center

Training → Students lists every student record in your business. A student is a person who has registered for a class, been added by staff, been registered as a client employee, or been imported.

The list

  • Search "Search by name, email, or phone..." matches all four fields.
  • Sort by Name (last name, then first) or Email. New students appear first by default.
  • Columns: Name (links to the profile), Email, Phone, Classes (registrations not cancelled), Last Class (the date of the most recent class the student holds a registration for, upcoming ones included; imported history uses its class date).
  • Import Students opens the CSV import.
  • Twenty-five students per page.

Instructors see only students who have a registration in one of their classes, and get read-only profiles.

Cancelled registrations count toward neither column, so a student whose only registration was refunded shows 0 classes and no last class.

Creating a student

There is no "Add Student" button on this page. Students come from:

  • Checkout on your portal (single or group).
  • Add Student on a class roster, which can create the record in step 1. See Adding students to a class.
  • Corporate client employees registered for a class, who get a student record automatically.
  • The CSV import, which is also the way to add students without a registration.

One student record exists per email address per business. Email matching is case-insensitive.

Deactivating a student

The row menu's Deactivate (confirm "Are you sure you want to deactivate this student?") hides the student from every list and search. Their registrations, certificates and receipts are kept.

Warning

Deactivation cannot be undone from the app, and the email address stays reserved: a new student record with the same email cannot be created afterwards. Use it only for records you are sure you no longer need. To stop someone attending, cancel their registrations instead.

Exporting

There is no export on this page. Use Reports → Students for a CSV or PDF of students with activity in a date range.
